LIKE TO ARRANGE A TALK OR PRESENTATION?

In the spirit of mission, Grant provides talks on the themes of his book including a talk on the book’s key lessons, the spiritual significance of awe, life in Antarctica, and the everyday awe of the Camino.

Talks are available for conferences, universities, schools, youth groups, and parish and church community groups.

Example talk topics include:

  • “Messages from a Quiet Land – a talk on a book about the revelation of the Divine in science, silence and awe”
  • Awe as Revelation: Cognitive Accommodation and the Sacred in an Isolated, Confined, Extreme (ICE) environment” (presented to Johns Hopkins University May 2025)
  • “Messages from a Quiet Land – reflections on adventure and spirituality from two winters living in Antarctica — aurora, science, silence and ice” (presented to a church parish community group 2024)
  • “From Awe and Antarctica to Augustine and Aquinas” (in discussion for a Catholic seminary)
  • “Life in the Freezer – a 501 day record in Antarctica”
